Customs and Things of Yunnan - night rain in mountain temple

Whenever walking in any town or village of Tengchong, you can always see temples.  There are many small temples abound with the sense of history, which can always be reminiscent of the small temple in the legendary stories which are for the lonely travelers to temporarily shelter from the rain.

Although the local religions are generally more primitive, that is, which have more purely worship rather than focus on understanding and practicing the teachings itself, these plain and quiet small temples themselves can be good places for people to calm and settle down their mind, isn’t it?

If you have the opportunity to stay in such a small temple overnight, listen to the night rain, and fantasy that you are the traveler in the legendary stories, you can understand that the reason why the small temple can settle down the people’s mind is not only because of it can shelter the people from winds and rains.
