風情異地-越南印象 / Things Outside Yunnan - the impression for Vietnam
今夏初次有機會到越南，走訪了北部的河內、中部的峴港等地。對這個東南亞國家的初步印象，作為中華文化圈的一份子，感覺越南的文化好比日、韓，比較像是中華文化的一個變體，從它的建築風格、米食文化、茶文化等多個方面都可見端倪。
This summer, I got the opportunity to go to Vietnam for the first time, and visited some places in the northern and central Vietnam including Hanoi and Da Nang. As a member of the Chinese cultural circle, my first impression of this Southeast Asian country is that, as like Japan and Korea, Vietnam's culture is just like a variant of Chinese culture, which can be seen from its architectural style, rice food culture, tea culture, and many other aspects.

由於地處東南亞的地緣關係，可以看到越南自古以來受東亞、南亞文化影響的痕跡，包括古代中國的儒家思想、孔廟和古代印度的婆羅門教、佛教寺廟。特別是古時的政治、教育制度在許多方面借鑑了中國，以至於到今天其民族性也頗有華人的影子：同為東南亞國家，相較於泰國這個樂天而隨興的佛國，越南比較像是一個務實而勤奮的農耕民族。
Due to its geographical location in Southeast Asia, there are the signs of the influence of East Asian and South Asian culture to Vietnam since ancient times that include Confucianism and Confucius temples of ancient China as well as Brahmin and Buddhist temples of ancient India. In particular, its ancient politics and education systems are learned from China in many aspects, so that today its nationality is also quite similar to the Chinese people: as both Southeast Asian countries, compared with the optimistic and arbitrary Buddhist country of Thailand, Vietnam is like a pragmatic and diligent farming nation.

近代的越南經歷了法國殖民和西方政治、經濟等思維的影響，融入了許多西方元素，以至於讓人在一些城市的街頭時常常有置身歐洲的錯覺。諸多的地理、歷史因素在這片土地上的不同遺留和衝擊所激盪出來的豐富性，應該就是它吸引人們造訪的所在吧!
Modern Vietnam has experienced the influences of French colonialism and Western politics and economics, and has incorporated many Western elements, so that people will often have the illusion of being in Europe when they are on the streets of some cities. There is a richness caused by the remains and impacts of many geographical and historical factors in this land, which should be the reason why it attracts people to visit.
